Hammered!

As you can probably guess by the heading it hammered down from when we turned up until half way round the course. That aside! A very enjoyable day, everything was very professional from getting out of our car to the end of the round of golf. Weather aside an incredible day which would of been awesome if the rain had... My friend and went last minute to play here and decided we would walk the course. Bad idea... well unless you have a trolley or pretty fit lol. Course is fantastic ... opening hole is probably the only let down. The rest are brilliant. Fully recommend a visit here and Roman Road... need to play 2010 again before I comment... More

We waited at the tee for the starter for 30 minutes and were very disappointed by this but that was the only negative of this course. Lots of different and challenging holes, if it wasn't as wet as it was it would of been a lot harder. A free course map could be a good idea for visitors as there... More

My wife and I played here after my children bought me a 1 night 2 rounds of golf package for my 60th birthday. The staff were terrific and I'd give them 5 stars for being so helpful and friendly, but that was the best part. The main issue I have with CM is that if you are a 2 ball... More

We enjoyed playing the course but felt let down by the buggy policy where you have to stick to paths and then walk at right angles to the ball. The ball was often on the opposite side of the fairway from the path and I think this also contributed to slow play.

We were playing as a group of 12 over 2 days. Day 1 we played the Roman Road and we ate at the Rafters. Mostly very good. Drink/beer prices are very expensive and they have the cheek to add an 'optional' 10% service charge to an order for a sausage sandwich. Food in Rafters was very good quality if a... More

Just returned, stunning course, the views over Newport stunning. Course was in excellent condition. Buggy policy is stupid it does add to the time significantly. Time for the new Segway type single person ride on's. I will return to play the course again.

Spent a glorious afternoon playing the Montgomerie course in late August. Teeing off at about 4pm we managed to just about squeeze the full 18 holes into our visit. The views on the course are spectacular and you can really sense the atmosphere of all the previous big tournaments held here. The greens were fab and the holes were challenging... More

Just played here and on the way home and couldn't wait to heap praise on what a good experience this was!! Played as a 4 ball, and 2 of us carried and 2 hired a buggy. Whilst it is a hilly course and the walk between holes can be quite long, i would still recommend carrying as you can see... More

Firstly, the good news: CM is a terrific resort with excellent accommodation, food and staff. The golf courses are spectacular, especially in the fine weather we have just enjoyed as an 8-strong group of semi-OAPs. But we decided to hire buggies, and it all went South from there, with the strict ruling of keeping to the buggypaths, with not even... More
