This is just a street now, but during the Troubles it was a street synonymous with sectarianism and potential flash-points of violence. If you go to the Falls area then definitely come here too.

As with Falls Road if you are exploring places associated with the Troubles then you also need to visit the infamous Shankill Road.

Wow what a great weekend we had In Belfast. We visited a load of places and thought we would venture up the famous Shankill Road, what a great place to visit. We frequented serval local watering holes and throughly enjoyed ourselves.

Like the Peace Wall and Falls Road, this area will help you to understand the past and present of Belfast and her people.

Once I entered into this road I was amazed how historical it was and yet how close it was to city centre. If you travel to Belfast it’s a must to visit

This was part of the open top bus tour so a must if you want to catch a glimpse of a tradional “Orange” or loyalist area. I think any person’s visit no matter what their religious beliefs (or in my case, lack of them) experience...More

Informative tour glad I took. I took the tour bus but would take a guided tour if I go back to Ireland which I would love to do.

Total respect for the people living in this area. As a tourist I felt like I was intruding, that was purely my own emotion

Humbling to travel through area on bus and see scenes of previous troubles which had only been snippets on tv previously. Memorials, murals , security measures and all the vivid imagery of what hopefully can be put in the past
