We came here in Early November 2017. We came with 10 kids aged between 4-14, all of them made their way to the peak. The path was a bit muddy but that is to be expected for November. I would recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes....More

Took the missus on a walk to lose some of her winter pounds. Told her it was a good hangover cure. Great place to stroll and would recommend if you do the cave hill walk to be prepared. Put the missus in shock. Ended up...More

Great Walk for those who are ‘able’ to walk. We parked in the car park and walked up. Took us roughly 20/30 min to get to the top. Some difficult parts but worth the view. We could see as far as the mourne mountains.

Great walks. Well kept. Very popular with locals and visitors alike. Good car parks so easy access from different entrances. Great view all over Belfast when you get to the top.

Great scenery, and refreshing climb. This is a great day out for just about any particular individual, though i would not recommend babies or dogs on the higher slopes of the mountain areas. The surrounding park is ideal for dogs and families. For the thrill...More

We’re lucky to live close by, so we’re here at least once a month. Most people park near Belfast Castle (really a very large turreted mansion). From here you can just potter around the castle & cat garden, go for walks through the surrounding woods,...More

Went out and walked the Cave Hill trail - a bit challenging but enjoyable for the views over Belfast. Was a bit muddy but manageable in regular shoes, but raingear advised.

While doable, I don't think it is worth the headache. It's a steep walk and not always smooth underfoot. Sturdy shoes, drinking water, and back up waterproofs if the weather changes is what you should be considering.
