I am giving this attraction 5 stars because it needs to be seen but, because of its condition, many reviewers would be inclined it one or two stars at best and I cannot name them. I have visited this location a number of times over a five year period in order to see Transport House rather than the Albert Memorial... More

This building is a bit of an eye sore. It has been boarded up for over a year now and really should be pulled down- it really is a blot on the landscape, terrible architecture!!!

It was built in 1959 & housed the Transport & General Workers' Union but was then taken over by UNITE. I don't know when the building closed but It... More

This building was built in 1959, and can be located on High Street, just opposite the Albert Clock. In it's day, it probably was a fine building, but at the moment it's boarded up, and is an eye-sore in a lovely city. It is one of Northern Ireland's youngest listed buildings, and it reminds me a bit of "Liberty Hall"... More

Artistically I do like the gigantic picture on this building. It is made of tiles, and shows a ship, a plane, cranes, and rows of workers. Belfast used to be a manufacturing town, and this is a trade union headquarters. The picture is fantastically stylised, all sharp angles. All at once it celebrates modern industrial strength, but that row of... More
