Having viewed the Bogside from the tour bus we decided to walk back to see more detail. It is difficult to come to terms with loss of innocent lives due to the actions of British troops who should never have been deployed.

As with all the murals in Londonderry, the stories only come alive if told by a guide. You miss the nuances of the murals if you ry to just walk them alone.

Bernadette Devlin/McAliskey, champion of the Irish people in the North and a strong advocate for a United Ireland. This is one of many murals in Derry, but one that stands out.
