Nice for long hiking. Beautiful sights in moorland with lakes, hills, sheeps grazing all over. For hiking best route is take a local bus from Edinburgh tonear The Flotterstone Inn and then take a long 12km hike till Blaerno and take a bus to Edinburgh

I live near the pentland hills and visit them often for walks with my children. There is a variety of routes so suit all abilities. Some paths, for example flotterstone to glencourse reservoir, are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs.

Basically. Stunning. They rise out of the ground very sharply and dramatically . Very few natural growing trees . Covered in grassland that is grazed tightly by hill sheep . A beautiful picturesque, unspoilt landscape. Some peaks exceed 1900feet.

Only information centre is closed. As it a park, there's no opening times as such - you can come and enjoy paths and hills whenever you like :) Restaurant-pub near by is open 7days as well.
