Aberdeen has long prospered off of sea-based industries, from the boom of the city's fishing industry in the early 20th century to its oil industry today; this museum explores the historic developments behind the city's maritime industries.

A large museum with some really interesting sections. Especially good considering it's free! Also a good, if dated, cafe offering very good value lunches. Well worth a visit.

Went into the Aberdeen Maritime Museum to fill in time, and was surprised. It is really informative for the offshore (rig) industry and how they get the oil out the ground. It also has a good history section with the history and boats of Aberdeen.
