Even in November as it was getting ready to close for the winter the trees and plants were amazing. Lovely walk although some areas are steep if someone has difficulty. Colours quite incredible.

This is in the 1001 Gardens to See Before you Die book for good reason. The trees here are amazing. Well planted and with interesting walks, the autumn colour on a mid October day was fabulous. We liked the numerous paths that were easy to...More

Great place to visit to see the leaves change colour. Some of the unpaved paths a bit wet so wear suitable shoes! Cafe was fab, shortbread amazing!

Visited with my husband - had a brief lunch of soup and roll then went to explore this stunning garden. Highly recommend - we had good weather and it was a wonderful afternoon strolling through the magnificent landscape

We were getting a bit weary of castles and museums.... what a beautiful change of pace. Plenty of different walks, lovely views, interesting trees and facts. Best of all a delicious lunch at the visitors centre. Don't miss the Ploughman's platter.... Yum.

Lovely gardens, well maintained. Don't think this time of the year shows it as its best and the drizzle the day we visited did take a little away. Peaceful gardens, with good paths, some grassy but didn't venture on these. Cafe is very good. One...More

Sorry but I am not sure. I did not see any dogs there when we were, but I cannot remember seeing any signs prohibiting them.
