An interesting place with lots of interactive activities and films to watch. Then the ship itself which was an eye-opener. Amazing that they could survive in such inhospitable surroundings in such a small space.

Visited the Discovery Point on Tesco Vouchers and added Verdant works in paying £16 incl. You are given your receipt which you then hand in at your second place and they take it. The other part of the receipt which is attached to a leaflet you send off with a photo and then they send you back an annual pass.... More

A fitting tribute to polar exploration. The boat itself is the epitome of Edwardian endeavour. Anecdotes, ephemera and mannequins pay tribute to Britain's wonderful history of exploration at the edge of the world. The ship does not require compliments. It is wonderful. Experience Scott's cabin and the mess room in which many months were spent by desperate men whose epitaph... More

I was actually here as part of a large business group who had made special booking to both visit the ship & have a special dinner at the venue. The visit to the lower layers of the ship is interesting, and this is well-supplemented by additional information provided in the various sections of the museum.

I wasn't expecting much, but then I was extremely pleased with my visit! They had mini cinema, videos, really informative descriptions, and the ship itself is great. You will get the full experience if the antartica discovery when you leave the museum.

The exhibition centre alone was worth every penny - very good - plenty of background, films to watch and artefacts. Takes a while if you read it all. Then you go out to the Ship. Make sure you go below decks. There was a very helpful guide in the wardroom and the ships Carpenters was busy in his workshop. He... More

Nicely done museum. Going through the museum puts the ship in context. Really shows how little was known about Antarctica before the expedition, and explains the background of the crew well. The ship is really interesting to walk through, and walk around. Just be aware there is a cafe inside the museum, but nothing else really close by, so if... More

Had a great time here. The exhibition setting out the story was good, lots of interactive for those who didn't know the full story of Scotts expeditions. Then to the ship itself. Quite a lot of building work going on next door, and the ship being worked on too, but it was a thrill to go aboard and tread the... More

It was interesting to see this ship in the dock. The surrounding area was pretty bleak, there were a lot of huge constructions going on.

We decided to stop off in Dundee as we made our way to Aberdeen from St Andrews. And I'm glad we made the stop! I knew of Scott's visit to the South Pole but not much about the Discovery and his prior expeditions. The museum is informative and interactive and thoroughly enjoyable. At the end, you get to set foot... More
