Visited on both nights of our Edinburgh trip. Great live music, reasonably priced drinks. Will go back next time in Edinburgh.

It was fun always but last night was up there, what a band. Lots of fun good music, they had everyone jamming till morning and the people I met, were brilliant. Good place to be.

Live music every night. We didn't have dinner here, just a whiskey. Seemed like a popular place for locals; more of a younger crowd. Nice place to stop for a night cap since it was close to out hotel. Recommend a stop in.

We found this place whilst looking on trip adviser for a live music venue in Edinburgh for a Sunday night. We were slightly sceptical when we first walked in, the staff weren't sure what band were coming on but we decided to wait the hour until they came on and we are so glad we did! The band got pretty... More

Quite a good music venue with a good choice of beers and spirits. First band were good - No complaints. Second band (Radio Pachuco) were absolutely unbelievably bad. Well the singer, bassist and lead guitar might well be incredibly talented by couldn't hear much of them above the racket the drummer was making.

Lovely place to listen to live music. We went on a Friday and Saturday. Music was completely different. Great atmosphere. Drinks are cheap too!

My mom, sister, and I went to Whistle Binkies while visiting Edinburgh on vacation, and I'm so happy we did!!! Great live music, super fun atmosphere, and the management was more than hospitable! We had the best night of our trip here, and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh!

Staying in Old Town

Neighbourhood Profile
Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the royal palace – two of Edinburgh’s great set-piece attractions. But there’s lots more exploring to do here down dozens of little alleys, or wynds, while at night the city’s busiest clubs erupt along the Cowgate which is closed to traffic for this purpose.
