Lots of nice paths with gardens and backdrop of the castle, relaxing and place to chill escape from the hustle and bustle of the town. If energetic tackle the hill to the castle.

We walked through this garden. It was very nice and full of visitors. There was a nice old fountain in one end which unfortunately was broken.

Went to Edinburgh for a rugby weekend. Spent time in the gardens soaking up the sun and enjoying the atmosphere. Really central to see all parts of Edinburgh.

Found the gardens a wonderful area to enjoy some quiet time while shopping. Lots of benches or grass to sit on. The view of Edinburgh Castle is superb even through a veil of rain showers!
