Open and free area for ambulatory commuters to the commercial area of the city, popular with dog and baby walkers, joggers, shortcut to city for cyclists. Many impromptu football and even touch-rugby matches by students from the adjacent art college and Edinburgh University.

My experience was unforgettable because my dog went up a hedge pole and then disappeared. My business partner was surprised and shocked.

Nice for a picnic on a sunny day. Has a children play ground area, close to the royal mile and the main attractions. Enjoyed the morning jogging.
