History, shopping, some houses, you can find it all at the street. A great walk. I actually recommend doing the city by foot, so you can take in the details.

It is practically one of the main streets of Edinburgh, which practically divides the part of the Old Town with the new one, really a nice place, with the story on one side and the present on the other, not to be missed if you...More

Busy in the day, nice and quiet at night. With beautiful views of the Castle, the gardens and many other sights worth seeing. Never too far away from a cold pint in a warm pub.

Generally just shopping street, please include also the parallel roads into the experience. We were lucky to still experience the Xmas market during oour stay, which adds a lot of flavor. Otherwise more shopping with fantastic view on castle.

What a shame nice views of the castle on one side plenty of shops on the other, but spoilt by the endless beggers and people sleeping rough, in fact it is better to shop in the shops off princes street

Glaswegians tease Edinburghers that their High Street
is only half one, since buildings only line one side.
But what they don’t say is how extraordinary the views
are from Princes Street as a result. From here you
look onto expansive and decorative public gardens
beneath the mighty basalt cliffs on which Edinburgh’s
Castle stands proud above the rest of the dramatic old
town skyline. Yet many of those on Princes Street look
