About 10 years ago I started coming to Edinburgh on business. At first I stuck to the pubs on the Royal Mile which are a bit sad. Then I discovered the Bow Bar. I instantly fell in love with the place. I don't frankly know...More

We stopped in for an afternoon drink and ate some delicious pies for lunch. Dogs are frequent visitors which made us dog-lovers happy, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, helping us with what to get!

My partner loves his beer and on any trip we normally make our way to somewhere with a good selection. The Bow Bar did not disappoint! The staff were knowledgeable about the beer on offer and made some great recommendations. I'd definitely go again.

Excellent choice of whiskies and beers, great for smaller groups as not that many spaces to sit. Nice decor with old mirrors and vintage advertisements. Very centrally located.

Went on a Thursday night with friends- bar was mostly full, not too crowded. Seemed to be a mix of locals and tourists. Decent selection of brews, not outstanding. Bartender somewhat unfriendly. Bathroom reasonably clean.

Although busy the atmosphere was a bit strange. But although in the heart of Scotland it only had one Scottish ale out of 7/8 Sad 😰

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its

this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly

that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

Hi Patrick. Not to my knowledge. The Bow Bar has been running since 1987 so I doubt another 'Bow Bar' was on the street.
