Andrea the tour guide is great, very good story teller and adds a bit of theatre when it’s needed. Only criticisms are that the group was possibly too large which meant there was a lot of chatter going on and also there were a number...More

I went on a night tour that included some time walking near the church then down into the vaults. The tour was a great mix between history and ghost stories. The vaults were quite spooky and it was fascinating to explore them. I believe my...More

Andrea the tour guide is a very good story teller and builds the suspense really well. Very atmospheric and a gruesome insight into Edinburgh’s history.

Andrea the tour guide was excellent! She told the tales really well and really kept you hanging on in suspense! The vaults were pretty creepy which is what we went for! The whole experience was very exciting and didn’t drag on.

Nice underground tour. The tour guide was a good story teller and the stories were interesting. I gave four stars instead of five because the tour was a bit short. You go into three ‘rooms’ but think there is much more to explore.

Booked onto the Ten o clock Terror Tour. Our Guide was Peter. Very informative and made you feel comfortable. The tour itself was interesting and the vaults unnerving and dark but highly recommend

We had a night tour on the halloween weekend . Honestly,it wasnt scary at all. Just historic facts in the dark. It could be improved if the company added a few special effects.

The tour itself has great potential the vaults themselves are dark, damp and eerie and with the right delivery the stories surrounding the history of them could really make you feel really spooked. Unfortunately our guide Esther was a fun sponge, any sign of laughter...More

No guide in costume as advertised but that was ok. Saw 4 of the rooms -much emphasis on "don't be scared if...." and "if you're nervous then..." etc rather than actual substance. Would have liked to have walked the length if the vaults to get...More

Old Town
Few Edinburghers live in the Old Town, but its
labyrinth of dank alleys and steep streets suggests
this was not always the case. Today, it’s mostly
visitors, tartan-flavoured souvenir shops, and pipers
that you’ll find on its cobbled streets. This is the
place to get a feel for Auld Reekie (Old Smelly), as
the town was once nicknamed, and stroll the Royal
Mile, the thoroughfare that links the castle with the

I wouldn't recommend that anyone that has trouble with extremely uneven stairs go down under the city in the tunnels for this tour.

Apologies for the late reply, but to answer the question, all the tours tell of some ghostly goings on and you may well imagine that the underground and vaults are a low lit, atmospheric and spooky place... that might not be... More
