I’ve been meaning to write this review for a few weeks now so I do apologise to the lovely girls who served myself and my husband late November. I believe both staff members were called Sophie, how funny!
We popped into the store as we were attracted by the window displays and we were warmly greeted by both “Sophie’s” who chatted to us about our trip in Scotland and St. Andrews. We purchased some lovely scarves to remind us of our time there. Both “Sophie’s” were very warm and welcoming and had time to help us choose plus they clearly had knowledge about all the lovely items in store and that it was all made in Scotland, Great! What a lovely shopping experience we had, well done girls!

I had tried on a flat hat over the last 2 days in the shop and could not make up my mind. I met the owner in another shop and he was quick to fulfill my needs. I went back to the House of Cashmere to get the cap at the right price.

Thanks Again.

Right in the heart of Market street is the House of Cashmere - with another location steps away on a side street nearer to University buildings. At this location Sophie was very kind to assist my friend and I as we selected cashmere scarves for our kids. There is a wonderful selection here of items all made in Scotland.

The shop also has blankets, cashmere hats and gloves, some plaids and a few sweaters. There is also a nice selection of pewter pins.

Prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality. Glad we popped in.

Walked in the store and was warmly greeted - sale staff (Sophie) was extremely pleasant and kind to deal with - answered all my questions and there was no pressure to purchase any items

I have visited Scotlands most gay-friendly cashmere shop again, but I was very very disappointed about how it succumbed. Where is that gay couple that has once treated me so nice at the shop? It has lost a lot of charm since my last visit.

Thank you Bert for finding a set of cuff links with the MacLeod crest. You went above and beyond the call of duty. Your tartan cap and bow tie made the experience 100% Scottish!

Had to get myself a cashmere scarf while in beautiful Scotland. House of Cashmere was a little pricey, compared to stores outside of St Andrews, but the excellent service was worth it. I really liked the young gay-couple at the store. Both made me feel welcome and accepted. RECOMMENDED!
