The famous Swilcan Bridge on the 18th hole of the Old Course at the Home of Golf. The bridge was originally built over 700 years ago so shepherds could move their flock across the Swilcan Burn which meanders through what is now the 1st and 18th fairways. Today the Swilcan Bridge, with the 'Auld Grey Toun' providing the most beautiful of backdrops, is one of the most iconic settings in golf. So much more than a little stone crossing, the Swilcan Bridge is the history of the game, it's the magic moments, it's felt the footsteps of the true greats.

What is a trip to St. Andrews without a photo on the Swilcan Bridge and playing a round of golf (for me on the Himalayas {putting course)? Beautiful place to visit!

Obviously full of history but, rather like the old course itself, rather underwhelming in itself. St Andrews answer to the Little Mermaid!

I'm biased as I love everything St Andrews bit this visit was frosty but sunny and perfect for a pic on the bridge whilst taking in the view of the historic and infamous golf course. Beautiful little bridge with many famous feet having crossed it....it makes you smile and I don't even golf!

Just an outstanding venue to play & enjoy your family. To think of the years gone by & all who have played this course. My Father played here back in the '20's & it was so very nostalgic for us to play along with our two sons & my wife

This is one of the all time sights to see on any golf course, famed for the people who have crossed this bridge, even if you don't play golf, you can cross this bridge on a Sunday when the course is closed.

Stand where golf's greatest have stood, Old Tom Morris, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and many more. Everybody stops to get their picture taken here.

Very relaxing town steeped in amazing History. Just walking around the town is very relaxing and the scenes of the old course always make the hairs in the back of my necklace stand up.

The Swilken Bridge can be seen from afar on the Old Course. I took numerous photos of it and even took one of myself on the bridge itself.

My first trip to the Old Course and it lived up to all expectations. Being able to walk on the bridge in between groups of golfers was a treat. Being able to walk all around the closed-course on a Sunday was very special.
