Our third pantomime at The Byre Theatre. Well worth a visit, Fairy Mary Doll was great and all the cast put on a great show. Lovely, comfortable theatre

Some good singing. Main characters were funny. Dancers performance needed to be a bit more polished. Venue so cold I had to wear my jacket.

Now in our 3rd year, we visited the theatre to see Mother Goose tonight. Superb performance from each and every one of them! Loved the take on Chicago! Loved local references and audience participation. Great work everyone. Makes my Christmas!

I went along with the 8th Scouts/Cubs and Beavers of St.Andrews (40+ in total). Mother Goose actor was absolutely fabulous entertaining and very very funny and made the show for me. I was not into all the singing and dancing bits, but loved the regular flow of jokes and improvised audience references. There was a lot of subtle adult humour mixed in and references to locality made it a very homely atmosphere. The lighting, sound and acting was all excellent. It was however very hot in the building, so in the half-time break, the ice creams @ £2 each for a tub (with hidden spoon in the lid) was extremely welcome. Adults will definitely enjoy this as much if not more than the children. I went in apprehensive at how much I would enjoy the whole show and came out satisfied and having had tears of laughter at Mother Goose's great delivery of fun and humour. Well worth going to and much funnier than anything I have ever seen at Dundee Rep.

Surprisingly large theatre tucked away off the main road. We had dinner in the restaurant downstairs; convenient, reasonable and well-priced. Wasn’t gourmet - the salmon looked like it was fresh from the local supermarket rather than any of the local fishmongers - but it was fair / fare enough. The novelty soup beforehand – a very unlikely combo of a veggie and cheese and possibly home-made – was indeed very nice.

We were there to see – and hear - the Bob Dylan Story (we saw the James Taylor Story last year!…is it the same guy doing these? – he’s on to a nice little earner!). Good entertainment for the survivors of the 60’s in the audience – plenty of elderly hippies in the crowd joining in with the chorus, including us.

We had a very pleasant time: dinner and a show, and I can recommend the theatre – and St Andrews – for a visit.

Fabulous night with top talented musicians. Great show. marvellous mix of music.
You couldn't ask for more. The crowd loved them. I am sorry they never seem to [play in my hometown of Dundee. However I love The Byre. Its intimate and cosy. Like an old fashioned theatre. Very good bar staff and excellent restaurant.

We visited the Byre last Friday for the Credence Clearwater tribute performance. It was an amazing evening. The musicians were excellent and the tribute they paid to CCR was very fitting. Regardless of where you are in the Byre you have an excellent view. The seats are so comfortable and offer a real eying of relaxation. we are so fortunate to have this great theatre on our doorstep and every effort is made to offer a varied programme of entertainment.
