We approached our guide, Fergus who was waiting patiently for us outside our first pit stop, Mitchell. We may not be his usual clientele, as we 4 ladies of a certain age (all over 50) where on a girls weekend to St. Andrews.

First stop Mitchell’s for seafood platter and the most amazing bread I’ve tasted and an overview of the history of St. Andrews from Fergus.

2nd stop, just next door to Forgan’s for wine and haggis bon bons.

3rd stop, Luvians, whisky tasting, not my tipple tbh, but the shop and the bottles on display where fascinating.

4th stop, Janettas for gelato, what can you say, can’t go wrong with ice cream and cakes…..

5th and final stop was The Rogue for cheese and beer (I’d go back to the restaurant for a meal as the food coming out of the kitchen looking really good and it had a lovely ambience about it).

Intertwined throughout the pit stops, Fergus took us to see some of the sights of St. Andrews and his knowledge was great and we were well looked after. Thanks go to Fergus!

Would recommend this to anyone to try - excellent way to start our weekend and something just a wee bit different.

The range of food venues was very impressive. We enjoyed walking for a bit, hearing about the history of the town and the Uni, then sitting in a new venue for another delicious thing to eat. Around half-way we were pleased to be offered a choice of which aspect of St Andrews we'd like to do for the rest of our time walking. It was good not to know what was coming next foodwise, then being thrilled with the quality of everything on offer.

This is our second time using Eat Walk tours (first time in Glasgow and this time in Edinburgh). The company is extremely flexible in meeting changing needs from starting at a different time and holding our reservation for 2 years from when Covid hit. Loved the food and the whisky. Our guide was great and very informative.

Vert smart guide - not just that he was smartly dressed in the kilt, but also because he was very knowledgeable on the history of St Andrews and current affairs. We did the Edinburgh Eat Walk tour a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it so that’s why we wanted to do Eat Walk St Andrews. It fulfilled our expectations and more. The food and drink were excellent and we discovered places we didn’t know about already - The Doll’s House and Luvian’s to name two. It’s a great way to spend 3 hours and learn about a town. It’s nice that locals sign up for these trips as well as tourists from further afield. The tour is great value for money - and I can’t recommend highly enough. We’re going to sign up for the Glasgow Eat, Walk next. That’s a real vote of confidence isn’t it…..

We really enjoyed this tour. Ferguson was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and there was more than enough food. We received full servings of various traditional items and it was the first time any of us were brave enough to try haggis- and to our surprise it was delicious. Excellent way to obtain an overview of the history of Scotland and of the charming town of St. Andrews. Highly recommend!

Fergus is incredibly knowledgeable on the history of this amazing town and much much more. Can’t say enough good things. He was very engaging and even made a diversion to St. Andrews Castle (currently closed) to tell us stories about it that we would never have heard anywhere else. His restaurant choices were fantastic. My reservations about such a seemingly overly-touristy activity were gone almost instantly. A thoroughly enjoyable way to spend an evening in St. Andrews.

We had a wonderful time on our tour with Fergus. There was lots to eat and drink, including a very informative whisky tasting at the incredible Luvians bottle shop.
We saw St Andrew's main points of interest and learned a lot about its history.
Would highly recommend!
