We booked the tour as a birthday treat for a friend. The tour guide was very good he gave us a very informed tour of St andrews telling us about the history or the town. All of the places we visited were really nice the food was all of a very high standard. Would recommend this tour.

We received a voucher for the tour as a Christmas present, but found it difficult to use in the summer due to the epidemic, but managed to get to St Andrews in early September and had a GREAT time with Fergus - who is a font of information - enjoying the walk, food and drinks Having visited St Andrews a lot in the past this was an 'eye-opener' for us both to hear and see things about the town that we just did not know...! Oh, and ask Fergus about the wildlife! Chris & Dot

My wife and I took a day trip to St. Andrews from Edinburgh in July and it was one of the highlights of our entire European vacation. I'm an avid golfer and wanted to visit the "Home of Golf", but my wife is a non-golfer. The Eat Walk Tour was our compromise to visit St. Andrews. Fergus was our tour guide and he was wonderful. He was very friendly and knowledgeable of the town and Scottish history. We visited several local attractions, restaurants, and pubs. His selection of places to visit gave us a great feel for St. Andrews. The only negative from the trip was there was a street fair going on, so that made town busier than usual. I would like to go back at a less busy time. Our next trip, we also plan to stay in St. Andrews overnight. Overall, I highly recommend the Eat Walk Tour. Our visit to St. Andrews was lovely and much-needed break from the "hustle, bustle" of other cities we visited. Alan and Fergus, thank you for a great visit.

Thank you for writing such a lovely review, I am glad you both enjoyed the tour. We are still running the tours but only as private tours at present. But we hope to get back to normal services next year all being well with the world.

I come to St. Andrews each year for golf. This year, I convinced my wife to join me. Since she is a non-golfer, I made sure to try and find things we could do together in the evenings. When we returned home, she said this tour was the best thing we did while there. Fergus is a wonderful guide. One my wife and I were on the tour, and he made the experience comfortable and natural. He is full of local knowledge and everyplace we went was a superb experience. The pictures here in TripAdvisor does tell the story, from the salmon appetizer, to the haggas dinner, to the whisky tasting, to beer and cheese pairings, to ice cream. Along the way, he taylored our walks between venues to suit our interests (e.g., we are both academics, so he made certain he related the nuances of the University of St. Andrews along the way.) A highly recommended experience.

I gave my partner an Eat Walk St Andrews voucher for Christmas in 2018. In true fashion he got round to finally booking the trip 2 weeks before its expiry however I am so glad he did (and that he decided to take me too!). Alan was a very knowledgeable tour guide and was able to give us lots of insight into the history of the area and answered any questions we had whilst sampling some excellent local cuisine and drinks. The pouring rain didn't even bother us as we had such an enjoyable time and he even showed us other landmarks on the way to each destination which he told us more about too. We were so suitably full after the tour was over (about 4.5 hours of eating, walking and talking) that we had to go for a nap after! I would definitely recommend this tour if you are in St Andrews for the weekend.
