Richard was very friendly and knowledgeable with a clear, strong voice for wandering outside in a group. He conveys a love for the history of the town and the game of golf. It’s so much more than just a walk around the course with a few facts thrown in. Really appreciated having pictures taken of us in front of the sign for the Old Course, and of course, the iconic bridge. He also gave some great tips about additional activities and the best places to go for souvenirs.

Richard provided a very knowledgeable and entertaining tour of the history of golf and the Old Course at St Andrew's. He also provided some history on the village of St. Andrews. This experience was well worth the money and provided an insight we would not have gotten on a self-guided tour. We look forward to Richard's book when it is published.

Richard is a great tour guide. We learned much about the town of St Andrews, and the game of golf (Our golfing men will forever hate the sheep for their invention of a bunker). ;)

Absolutely loved our tour of the Old Course with Rod, in his new red jacket. He was amiable, welcoming and extremely well informed, throw in funny and you’ve got a tour that passes the time with more information and photo ops than you thought possible. Plus your ticket also garners you a discount to the Gold Museum…also highly recommended. I will go again, just because it was so informative and enjoyable.

Richard’s extensive knowledge and wit made the tour very enjoyable. As history buffs we were fascinated by all that St. Andrew’s has to offer - past present and future. Thank you Richard for a memorable experience!

Wow! Richard is a walking textbook. He had so many interesting stories and really tied the old course to the history of St. Andrews. We are avid golf fans and we didn’t realize we could appreciate this infamous course even more. Wish we could’ve bought Richard a pint— his drop off point and recommendations for a good view of the course was superb.

Next pint is on us, Richard!
