Richard was an amazing tour guide! My husband and I ended up with a private tour of St. Andrew’s highlights. We were, like many others, visiting to town primarily to see the old course. But I’m so glad we did this tour because we got to see what a lovely town it is, the old chapel on university grounds, the beautiful somber ruins of the cathedral and even some royal history. My husband was thrilled with the pictures our guide took on the swilcan bridge! Richard is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the town and golf, absolutely worth the cost and the chilly walk. He even provided us with recommendations for must visit placed in town at the end of our tour.

Bottom line: book the tour! You won’t regret it!

This was the perfect history tour of St. Andrews. It was around one hour, and it was an efficient way to learn and see all of historical St. Andrews, and it is so much more than just the home of golf. Richard provided his unique perspective on the city’s history with his deep knowledge and fun facts that only a long-time local of the city would know. I especially enjoyed seeing the beautiful campus of St. Andrew’s and learning about Prince William’s experience there as a student.

My wife and myself joined Richard today for our tour of the Old course. Despite neither of us being fanatical golfers, we both found the tour very informative and kept us interested with our guides inside stories and knowledge. 1hr was just right and we finished off with drinks in the hotel bar looking over the 17th. ( much needed as was very cold despite being blue skys :) )

Great tour! Loved the lack of theatrics also learned loads about the history of St Andrews which was very good! There was just 4 of us on the tour so it was easy to ask questions! Richard is definitely a fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things St Andrews

The tour was professionally delivered and the timings were slick. It was interesting to see some parts of the town we hadn't seen before.

Unfortunately the content and style just weren't for me. I felt the guide spent a lot of time talking about himself which may appeal to some, but I found it a little self indulgent for a 90 minute walking tour. Lots of stories about sightings on previous tours, but it was very evident that ours was not going to produce a 'ghost on demand'.

We also had someone in our group genuinely wanting to engage, but questions mid tour were shut down and not addressed, which was a shame. We felt totally disengaged.

I started a sceptic, and ended an even bigger sceptic. Sorry Richard.

I loved learning about history of St. Andrew’s golf course but it was much more than that. We learned about the history of the town itself, the cathedral, palace, and the university. Wonderful tour!

Was just ok. I really struggled to understand the guide and I'm Scottish! I enjoyed looking at the buildings and listening to some of the history but felt the "ghost" part was seriously lacking. I wanted more information, more stories but it was all a bit flat, rambling and all about the guide. Was a bit of a let down.
