Greeted by a grumpy woman at the desk . The cinema room itself was cold. Seats were comfortable. Toilets were disgusting! We waited to report this personally but the desk was deserted. Won't be rushing back.

Amazed at how inexpensive this first class evening was.

Last minute decision to go out had us book tickets at cinema. And it was amazing. Staff were so cheerful and prices so low.

Best cinema experience ever

Have been to this dated but cherished cinema many times. However , our latest experience was horrendous. Our 12 and 14 year olds and a few friends went to see Spiderman. The 2 x 12 year olds were asked for ID - which they didn’t have. I was outside so subsequently asked the ticket manager whether I could vouch for them, as the responsible adult. I accept - having now checked the guidance - that this would not have been possible given the rules, but it seemed a shame for two 12 year olds to be denied entry to a 12A movie just because they didn’t have ID. The manager reacted very defensively, and then became confrontational. I asked her not to be rude. Even as I was walking away , she continued to talk after me aggressively. I explained that I was just trying to get my 12 year old into a 12 film. She responded by accusing me of “blackmailing” her (!). It’s hard to know what to make of this - a totally nonsensical, laughable and insulting allegation. She continued to behave in a confrontational way, even with other customers in the queue. She later refused entry to my 14 year old and her friend , on the basis that they didn’t have ID, even though she had been willing to admit them earlier. Guilty by association?! I accept the need for rules .Fair enough. But the behaviour of this employee beggared belief. A quick glance at other comments suggest that this may not be a unique experience. How can a serious business accept this? I'll be writing to the parent company.

Lovely cinema and a great evening but sadly spoilt when I realised that I had been charged twice for my online payment for the tickets. This happened over 3 weeks ago and I've still not had a reply despite two emails requesting a refund - very disappointing

The cinema is fine but overpriced given that its clearly not a modern screen. The majority of staff are nice and helpful, the management is rude and lazy. One woman was left to deal with a full screenings worth of people and was still cheerful, the manager however when very patiently asked if there would be any chance of a refund given the site had given the wrong time screening bluntly replied that the tickets were for the wrong time... truly insightful. Having waited 15 minutes for this response we missed the start of the film which we payed full price. Given its the only cinema in the town its obviously happy to just ring out as much money from its customers as it can. There is no function to actually book seats, and the covid regulations are worryingly absent barring those enforced by individuals. If you want to see a movie, Dundee isn't too long on the bus.

Staff were absolutely horrible to us, they shouted abuse at us fron afar. Don’t even get me started on the spying they done on me and my wife while putting out private details in. Absolutely horrid place, never again. Seats weren’t cleaned, bogeys everywhere and little kids screaming, couldn’t get worse, -1/100 :)

Have been going to this cinema for over 60 years, first on summer holidays and now having retired to Fife. I go happily on my own or with friends and always find the staff friendly and the prices lower than in big cities. There is normally no need to book on-line, just pay when you get there. They also show live National Theatre, Ballet, Opera performances which are marvellous and better than being in a huge theatre in London at great expense Please stop criticising it as people who live here would be devastated if this lovely old cinema wasn't here any more.

Sure, it's a bit dirty, sure, the staff are ancient, sure the screens are sh*te, but goddamnit it's the only cinema close to us and I love it.

Sincerely,

Again and again I fail to remember how bad their website is. I just tried booking online, can't do it. Nor do the crucially tell you which screen the film is on until you go all the way through the booking system (screen two is a shoe box). The staff aren't friendly. The only reason this cinema survives is that its the only one left in a university town. Needs investment, training and a website that works.

Front reception area was being refurbished, they couldn’t provide much choice of refreshments or provide popcorn. Screen 3 terrible, uncomfortable, can’t see over peoples heads. Screen 3 not to same standard as Screen 1 but paying same price. Cinema should be closed down during refurbishment or selling discounted tickets, thought we had walked into a Joiners Workshop.
