Designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1901 and built in the attractive setting of Bellahouston Park in the 1990s, House for an Art Lover allows the visitor an insight into Mackintosh's renowned talent not just as an architect, but as a an artist, designer and pioneer of the Modern Movement. The venue runs regular arts themed events and is home to the popular Art Lover's Cafe.

This is definitely a must see if you like Rennie Mackintosh, although it is a good bus ride from the city centre. Heed the advice to ring up first though as it is understandably often closed for functions. I can't think of a more wonderful...More

Went back to Glasgow on a quiet, good day. Walked over from the small Dumbreck station. Liked the park where this was added. Saved paying the £3 oldies entrance that day... Impressive interiors too. Then had a good little meal at the cafe. Certainly worth...More

Visited with friends and family and thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed lunch in immaculate surroundings. Food excellent and easonably priced. A short walk in the beautiful garden completed the afternoon. Will certainly return

Check their website as it does weddings also and the exhibition changes its opening times upto a week at a time. The cafe has separate opening times and is open to the public more frequent.

Sorry I can answer your question. I was leading a tour, which means the bus driver got us there, with the help of a local who served as a private guide. I bet it's really beautiful there now that summer has arrived. Enjoy!
