walking round this building was amazing and magical - the differences in light and shade depending on the rooms, or, how differing shapes in each room are preferred by men or women. The views from the music room windows were good as well. Car parking for the disabled is good - make sure you follow the signs.

We booked one of the meeting rooms at House for an Art Lover for a planning day. The room was great, well stocked. We were looked after and would recommend using the space, we certainly will again.

Quite a sophisticated place. Not too big, may be 30 tables or so.. But food is good. usually busy during lunch time. not sure about dinner time. I would surely recommend this place to others.

Freezing and expensive. Had an open pasta dish for lunch and it was tiny. I was still starving. Not very good.

Many thanks for your feedback, however I think its possible you may have mistaken us for another venue as we don't have an open pasta dish on our menu? When it comes to cost we would like to think our prices are actually very affordable for the quality we offer - with our set menu at £11.99 for 2 courses... More

Fond memories of this place, thought I was not in Glasgow as it was so quiet and peaceful. Not as big as gallery but still filled with interesting facts. Take a picnic and go into park after your visit if its a nice day. Last visit was summer 2014 ( don't get choice of year in next section)

As a fan of Art Nouveau, my Scottish friends knew I would enjoy the House for an Art Lover, and so it was first on the itinerary for our day of Glasgow sightseeing. The house was completed and opened to the public in 1996, but designed in 1901 by renowned Glasgow architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife as a... More

The house is a must for those interested in architecture. Set in a beautiful park. Elegant cafeteria, popular wedding reception venue.

We have seen the building from outside only, because some private party was held in it. It was big disappointment, because the house is remote from the city centre and the travel by public transport was long and also it was not easy to find it (no signs). Nevertheless the house is very nice, the sculptures in the garden are... More

House for an Art Lover was our wedding venue on November 21 2015 and we couldn’t have hoped for a better day. Not only through the stunning house itself, but through the help of Rachel in the lead up and Robert on the day. Both are a credit to the House. When it’s set up for a wedding it’s utterly... More

This is the Mackintosh 'house' that would have been built in his time if only he had stuck to the competition rules. It was build later by a big Mackintosh fan and is a simply amazing exposition of how his design ideas would have looked in reality if only he had been more accepted in his lifetime. The detailing is... More

Thank-you for your feedback Oliver, its wonderful to hear your comments and appreciation for the house - particularly after all the hard work and research that was dedicated in order to realise Mackintosh's house from the the original drawings themselves. We are definitely worth a visit for any fan of his work! Thanks again, Lynn More
