Glasgow was once one of the most prosperous trading cities in the British empire, and the City Chambers reflect that golden period. Marble stairs, columns and balustrades and mosaic floors. The main hall was especially stunning, with enormous paintings of Glasgow's industrial and mythological history.

I was in the banqueting hall for a business event and the while building is beautiful, steeped in history and a beautiful marble staircase within. Not sure if they do tours of the building but if they did I’d consider booking one.

Just walk in and have a look, it's a lovely building. The private bits are always out of bounds I guess. A guide will enhance your visit, sure, but its still worth a quick visit regardless.
