Loved this place since first sight. Not only a beautiful building but inside a pleasure to just look at. Spent many hours reading here and just looking around it. Love it

Went to do some looking for ancestors burial locations. Was helped by really nice staff that couldn't of been nicer or more helpful. Great building but a bit stuffy and I really appreciated the fresh outdoors when I got out. Brought a couple of coffees at the cafe and they were pretty 'low' tide.

The Mitchell Library houses a large local archive, as well as the Special Collections room that gives you access to a vast range of records, and a newspaper collection held on microfilm. Both rooms had very helpful and patient staff who were able to offer advice and guidance on making your visit worthwhile, and there's plenty of lockers for your... More

This is not only a library, it host a fantastic theatre and many local groups use it for talks and social gatherings. It has its own cafe, with an I.T area, which if your a member of any Glasgow library you can access the computers and book borrowing. They have great rooms for reading in quietness, from small to grand.

There are two entrances. The entrance near the M8, closest to the city, has toilets on the ground floor. The entrance on the other side towards the West End has amazing stone statues guarding the entrance that look glorious at night. There are floors of books and one of Scotland's great genealogy collections. The cafe downstairs has trendy Google breakout... More

I am local to this building and as an avid reader can spend hours here. It has that distinct "library" smell and 99% of the books you could want. I can pass an afternoon in here quite easily.

This is a beautiful building and well worth a visit if in Glasgow whether you have an interest in the history of the city or an interest in architecture. It is just a short walk from the heart of the city and it's great to see so many people using and enjoying the building.

Visited this venue for Aye Write book festival. Comfortable and excellent space for this event. Cafe was also very good for choice of hot drinks and snacks. Service in the cafe was very good despite the number of customers.

Great building and well worth a look but keep an eye out for the stairs to the gents toilets as when it gets wet the stairs are slippy and a death trap and I slipped down quite a few of them and it not funny and very painful.
