I have walked along Sauchiehall Street so often, on many visits, and it was my husband who spotted a shop window displaying military uniforms. On entering, we discovered that this was the home of the Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum. What treasures this museum has on...More

As lovers of military history we visited this museum a few days ago. Although the museum looks little more than a shop entrance from the outside, we were delighted with the collection of artefacts on view and spent a reasonable amount it time st the...More

This interesting little museum is a natural home of the Highland Light Infantry, Glasgow’s own regiment which was assimilated into other ones during British military rationalisation. Helpful, welcoming staff provide suitable directions within the museum which contains a myriad of artefacts relating to the Royal...More

Thank you for your kind review - we are very proud of our "interesting little museum"! Our antecedent regiments include The Royal Scots Fusiliers (21st of Foot), raised in 1678; and The 71st & 74th Highlanders, raised in 1777 and 1778 respectively, who amalgamated to...More

Full of interesting material that was well displayed. Information was detailed and this museum is a must for anyone who likes military history. The museum certainly lets you know what it was like for a soldier throughout the years. Good to see regimental history shared...More

Review by Dr Sim. You go pass this on the hop on hop off bus. The museum is small but nice. History of one of the many military units that served the Queen. Nice souvenirs for tourists and visitors. Regard Dr Sim

Behind a 'shop facade' on a busy city street hides this regimental museum, with exhibits from its previous regiments: the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Highland Light Infantry. Both had distinguished histories and this museum does justice to both. Crippled by government stinginess the Curator...More
