We have been going to the Norfolk Broads for nearly 30 years now and have our own boat there, but from the very first time we hired I have always had this fascination with the Caledonian Canal and the Scotish Lochs and at the Start...More

Whiling away the time watching a large (for waterways) cruise boat come down this multi stepped shipping/boating canal to Loch Ness was fun. A very up close and personal experience watching this engineering marvel.

Just spent a few days with Caledonia Discovery aboard the Fingal of Caledonia cruising the Caledonian Canal. What a great way to travel, 6 miles per hour flat out. I'm already planning my next trip with them.

Husband and I did this trip for a second time. Used West Highland Sailing this time instead of Caley Cruisers. Liked the fact that you start your journey at Laggan which saves doing Loch Ness.

Came here as part of the Lochness day tour from Edinburgh. It's interesting to see how the gates open to let the ships in. Worth a visit.

Another must go attraction. Look at the canal and imagine the huge ships that came through scotland using this canal, going through all the locks which connects the canal to ll of the Lochs.

Located in a gorgeous location, the canal offers a great view of the surrounding landscape and of course; Ben Nevis. Superb place for a run, stroll or simply to get some fresh air.

This is a canal, not a hotel but if you're asking where would be best to stay, if suggest either Fort William or Inverness. There are many different types of accommodation available all along the length of the canal... More
