Well worth a visit whatever the weather. Beautifully kept and full of wonder for you and old. Open late into the evening - we had the whole Priory to ourselves.

If you're already stopping in the area, make time (20-30 minutes) for Beauly Priory. Originally built in 1230, it's now a beautiful ruin, with a tomb inside (Sir Kenneth Mackenzie of Kintail) and and a handful of information signs. Gorgeous treed grounds make for a...More

Interesting, if short stop. It has the same 'sense' about it as Melrose on a much smaller scale. Grounds are interesting with a rather neat tree out front. Could be done as part of a larger itinerary very easily.

Nothing whatsoever to do here except the priory which only takesa few minutes. A strange place. Dont bother unless you are already driving through the village.

Remarkable stone structure still standing despite the centuries. Great for fans of historic architecture in Scotland, with tombs from centuries ago still readable and good information at the site about how the monks lived in those ancient times. There is a massive, ancient tree in...More

Small town Beauly sits pretty on the banks of the river Beauly. The Priory is probably its chief attraction. Old ruins which are quite atmospheric. A big tree with ravens in the same compound by the entrance adds to the effect.

Just take 20 minutes out of your day to have a look round the Priory and read the excellent information boards.

Stunning piece of history, and very well-maintained. Please be respectful when visiting, and really take in the atmosphere.

Peaceful, tranquil priory ruins in Beauly high street. Truly spooky effigy of Victorian Mackenzie (?) In a side chapel.
