Interesting tour... and I'm not even a drinker!

Enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about the whisky distilling industry. And they're generous with their tastings. It was off-season so the vats were cool, but they made sure we got to see all parts of the distillery.

Our family have just completed a very enjoyable and interesting tour of the Tomatin Whiskey Distillery at Tomatin, just outside of Inverness. As a person who has never taken a tour of any form of alcohol distillery I found the tour very informative with a great insight into the production of Scotch Whiskey. The tour takes you through process of... More

After a long day we made it to the last tour of the day. Highly recommend, not overly touristy. Our guide was friendly and informative. I didn't realize how much goes into making whiskey. Enjoyed our tasting.

We came today to trace my grandad and fathers family holiday haunts and were really pleased we did. Our tour guide was lovely and very friendly and open. The distillery itself was very interesting and great to see a distillery still operated by people rather than just computers. Even the tasting at the end was fab ( which is something... More

We visited Tomatin as part of our Whisky trail tour and enjoyed the distillery. Tomatin is one of the smaller distilleries we visited and you get that "family/personal" experience as opposed to the larger more commercial distillery tours. We had Stuart take us round, and he is a very bubbly and personable character. So knowledgeable on Whisky even though he... More

This was my first whisky distillery experience. Tomatin was a lot larger but the recession some years ago meant it had to reduce its output. It is one of the only distilleries that has a mash tun (what they use to get sugars from the barley) and it is cut as a cross section so you can stand in it... More

A fantastic distillery with about 45 000 visitors per year from all over the world. It takes about 15-20 min from Inverness. An historic place in whisky world, here you can buy some bottles you could not find in shops or tax free. Great staff and guides take you for a ride in the distillery.

we arrived to a warm welcome in a gorgeous visitor area well stocked with delicoous whiskies and merchandise. We signed up for a tour and were handed over to a friendly lady (sorry I forgot your name). After a quick intro we were off on our tour. The knowledge of our guide was second to none as we found out... More

Hi Damien, I believe Fiona was the friendly lady who entertained and educated you when you visited Tomatin! I am sorry you missed the distillery in full production when you visited us, but as you can appreciate, the guys work hard to keep everything in excellent working order to ensure that we can continue to produce such gorgeous whisky for...
