Immerse yourself in Scotland's history as you experience the crowning place of Scottish kings. Stand on the Moot Hill, where the Kings of Scots were inaugurated, and later crowned on the famous Stone of Scone. Enjoy the palace and its rare and beautiful collections including French furniture gifted by Marie Antoinette and bed-hangings worked on by Mary, Queen of Scots. Stop off at the Old Servants' Hall Coffee shop and enjoy one of our delicious home baking including a scone at Scone! Went for the Palace, which is lovely. But enjoyed the amazing maze the best! All the staff have great historical knowledge and are friendly too. Numerous Peacocks wander the grounds too which was lovely to see.

The most wheelchair accessible attraction of our holiday. Parked right up by the palace, everything is wheelchair accessible and pretty much on one level. Many fascinating and priceless exhibiits of art and furniture telling the story of the family and of the building back to the 9th century. Friendly, helpful and informative staff. Raining, so didn't visit gardens.

I loved this palace. We were lucky to visit when there were very few other people. The palace is full of history, beautifully presented and the guides knowledgeable and friendly. One particular young man made our afternoon as he offered so many insights. The cafe and shop were very good. We enjoyed salmon sandwiches in the gardens accompanied by the... More

As historical Palaces and Castles go this has to be up there with Glamis and Blair Castle. Palace and grounds were well maintained and the guides and advisors were excellent. Full of information and their knowledge was extensive. For History buffs this is a great place!

The gardens here are lovely. There is a really well stocked pineatum, and everywhere is so well kept. We loved the maze. Once inside the Palace, the room attendants are so knowledgeable, and enthusiastic, about the artifacts. It is really interesting. Then, finish your day with a second, at scone! They were delicious.

Lovely gardens and a beautiful Palace. We were greeted by a bunch of Peacocks and Peahens wandering around the gardens surrounding the palace. Although the weather did not cooperate (rain, snow, and sleet) the gardens were still lovely. Beautiful Cherry Trees creating a covered path and some cattle make for interesting photos.

Scone is perhaps not the bonniest castle in Scotland but it sits in lovely, well cared for grounds and contains absolutely staggering collections of porcelain and ivory. There is much of historical interest both inside and outside the palace. The canteen is excellent and all staff members are friendly and helpful. As a somewhat aged Scot, I am ashamed to... More
