A big theatre in a small place

We live locally and pop in as it is spacious and has a lovely view of the river. I'm afraid the hot drinks are lacking, as is the food. The seating has cushions turned over as they are tearing and stained, and there is nothing for children. I understand it's just and add on for theatre, it's just a shame... More

Hi Lucy, Fantastic news that you often pop in to enjoy our spacious Foyer Café and superb views over the River Tummel and Ben Vrackie. Children are regularly (and happily!) catered for through the provision of child friendly portions and infant seating, with our wide range of refreshments - both hot and cold - enjoyed by a large number of... We went to see the finals of the SCDA Scottish one act play festival. The foyer is large with plenty of room to meet people, have a drink and have a chat. The theatre is open with excellent sight-lines from everywhere. The stage is large and the acoustics very good. The theatre strives hard to put on a varied programme... More

We had a magical time going to see The Tin Forest at Pitlochry Festival Theatre - the performance itself was spellbinding and the shop and facilities were of a very high standard. (We also loved the 'wobbly bridge' just down from the theatre, which I remember from my childhood.) We would most definitely visit the theatre again, it is a... More

Great theatre in lovely location. Entertaining events and lovely food. Pitlochry Theatre, you have wonderful staff especially Margaret who was on evening duty Saturday 8th April. Our taxi driver cheated us by accepting payment from us for a return trip to evening performance. He failed to return for two parties of mature ladies returning to different accomodation. Margaret came to... More

Pitlochry theatre has so much to offer visitors. Open most of the day one can pop in for a coffee and snack, enjoy a lovely dinner before the performance or browse the lovely gift shop and find an unusual gift or try to resist the temptation to indulge oneself.

Great location by the Tay. Varied programme of shows & events. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good restaurant & café (sit with a drink & watch the river through the floor to ceiling windows). Well worth a visit.

The Pitlochry Festival Theatre is located in the shadow of the Hydroelectric Dam and power station . The theatre has a cafe and gift shop and provides gallery space for a variety of artwork. The views from the comfortable break out area are fab. We visited last Friday night and joined a sell out crowd to watch the Johnny Cash... More

Fabulous theatre by the the river Tyne, Pitlochry. The play, Carousel, was superbly executed. Pitlochry also features a huge hydro-electric dam with its famous fish ladder to get the salmon up the river for spawning, avoiding the dam. There are windows set in the side of the ladder to view the fish! Fantastic.
