Unfortunately the visitor centre does not open until April. However you can still appreciate the soldiers leap and walk to the Pass of Killiecrankie. Be aware that there are uneven steps. Not suitable for those with mobility problems. Lots of bird feeders near the centre to enjoy the wildlife

The good news is that repairs to the lower path at Killiecrankie were completed last November. This means that there is a new wooden footbridge at the foot of the viaduct (after the old one was washed away) and the metal suspension bridge near the vehicular Garry Bridge is now deemed safe to use. Last November's walk involved a detour... More

Very friendly staff at the visitors' centre; the wild bird feeder was a fascinating attraction. Staff were knowledgeable and helped to make the soldiers’ leap more vivid.

This hike was beautiful. There are several different trails to take in this area, we asked someone at the visitor's center for suggestions. They directed us to a trail head down the road to which we drove. There was a tiny parking lot and a little wooden arrow to mark the trail head. If you want a really local experience,... More

Visitors centre was closed today, but the cafe was open. Got a brew and a pie before walking to soldiers leap. During the height of the summer this place is mobbed. Wear some stout shoes, especially if you do the full walk. Really lovely today in the winter. Trees were all frosty white and could see our breath puffing out... More

The visitor's centre was closed, due to its being winter, but we still enjoyed a trek to the Soldier's Leap. Do be sure to wear good walking shoes.

As you make your way through Killiecrankie, make sure you stop at the Garry River Bridge for beautiful views of the river as it narrows and cuts its way through a small gorge. The entire Pass of Killiecrankie area is glorious.

Nice place to visit and the scenery is stunning at this time of year, lots of paths and walks, the river, visitor centre and the local area history, well worth a visit
