Our taxi driver stopped at this place. We were shown a few spice plants which was informative. Then came the free massages and the shop. We were stupid enough to buy some products and then they insisted we have lunch which was already laid out in another room. they were very persistent so we had lunch and then came the... More

The spice walk was interesting - although in essence it was just the guide pointing to a few plants in the garden and talking about them. After that, they take you to the product demonstration area. This is where the business part comes in and they become pushy trying to sell you stuff. They applied a sandalwood oil and aloe... More

If your driver attempts to take you here - suggest you strongly decline. Like other people have said about this place and the competition, you don't get taken to a farm or plantation, but rather a tiny garden with one plant for every herb they try to "educate" each visitor about. This then leads to a free / demonstration massage... More

Okay outside plant tour and pretty good info session but you don’t go far at all (i.e. not a walk through a spice plantation). Most of their products were lotions and oils not whole spices as I thought (hoped) it would be. Surprisingly I was given a mini facial (which I wasn't very keen about) with their face cream and... Our driver took us here (he got a free massage which should have warned us something was up!) and initially we thought how friendly and nice everyone was but like the contributor prior to me we felt well and truly conned when we got back to our hotel. You are given a small tour which is very interesting and a... More

The welcome seemed genuine and the tour of the spice plants was interesting. We were then " transferred" to the owner who stepped up the pace of persuasive chat. We then received head and neck massages , which I have to admit were very good, so we donated to the "students" fund.. We were then ushered into the shop where,... More

On our second trip around SL we were taken once again to the International Spice Walk. I had a strange feeling and as soon as the owner "Rafi" came to greet us, I remembered him from our previous visit some years prior. Of course he claimed to remember us also which I doubted until he mentioned the name of the... More

A quick tour around some spice and fruit trees, a fifteen minutes "free" massage and a presentacion of some of the medicines derived from fruits and spices. We were invited to a small shop where they sell the products at a grossly overpriced amount. Since the owner was so convincing, we end up spending around $us 600 in medicines for... More

It's one of the most beautiful place i've ever been, i feel lucky to have experience such wonders at the age of 18, i got the chance to feed mango's to 3 huge squirells, i saw some colorful species like cockoo & those huge palm size butterfly, i need to thank the guide for preparing us the typical srilankan sandwich... It's a cool place to visit. A garden with all kinds of herbs and trees, all in one area. The guides in the garden gave the introductions of commonly used aurvedhic (traditional medicine) herbs in sri lanka. At the end a 15 minute herbal massage was very refreshing after my long trip from colombo to kandy. I also bought some... More
