It inspired Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture and after visiting it I can understand why. Beyond all I'd imagined, and to be honest it's also a little terrifying, Staffa and Fingal's Cave are truly breath-taking. The Staffa Tours boat docks briefly to allow passengers off onto a concrete jetty where you're then free to make your way across the basalt to Fingal's... More

Yes, the cave is cool. The best thing about the trip is not the cave, but the Puffins. This is a Puffin paradise. I could have stayed and watched the Puffins all day long. They come so close and do not seem to mind the tourist watching them. Beautiful island to walk and must do if you love Puffins.

My wife and I braved the Scottish seas between Tobermory and Fingals Cave. Better trip in the dry, sunny morning although a little choppy across the mouth of Loch Tuath causing a bit of spray on deck! Landing on Staffa to explore the amazing basalt columns and the cave itself made it all worth while. Unique. The boat trip back... More

Very unique wee island - looks like a gigantic sculpture carved into the rocks! Very interesting place for geologists and wildlife lovers! If you are lucky, you will get to see where seals give birth to their pups (born white), usually late September or early October.

To be told of Fingal's Cave before we arrived did little or absolutely nothing to describe the sight itself and for that matter how we would feel seeing it. Words simply cannot describe the stunning cave and the basalt columns. We were very fortunate to have the perfect day and on zodiacs entered the cave, which only a few fortunate... More

What an awesome trip to Staffa, it was a cloudy and misty day with limited visibility but the big water was calm. Toured across with about 25 others and had a great time. Amazing formations and well kept by the Trust. Got to walk all around the isle, a few weeks late to see the Puffins, but the isle was... More

The geology of this cave is amazing! As a geologist, this cave was 100% worth taking a tour to see. Not only is the cave spectacular but there are puffins all over this tiny island, which makes this a worthwhile trip for anyone who loves nature.

I'd recommend visiting Staffa to anyone, it is such an unique and unbelievable place. It's not often you get to see such a phenomenon. The structure of the island is just breathtaking and it's an amazing experience walking into Fingal's Cave. We visited with Staffa Tours as part of the Three Isles Tour and it was great, very well structured.... More

Travelled from Mull on the Staffa Tours boat 'Fingal' to visit the cave. Amazing experience. As mentioned in other reviews, would recommend appropriate footwear as can be slippery. Anyone with mobility issues will need to allow time to get to the cave. It can be done. The views and colours are outstanding and it is all natural.....
