Olde world bookshop.

Ennis is a little gen of a town for strollers with it's ambience and narrow laneways and streets. Right in the market square is this little gem of a bookstore which is imbued with... read more

Paid a quick visit in July with the kids in tow. Would be better alone with an hour or two to spare. There is a big selection of books and some searching would be required to pick out the undoubted gems hidden on the big shelves.

I love this small quirky shop! Converted from a small terraced cottage in the central market area of Ennis town the shop is a haven of pre loved books of all descriptions. Wander upstairs to the tiny packed rooms to explore further. I bought some new Irish comics produced locally as Gaeilge. Wonderful!

Ennis is a little gen of a town for strollers with it's ambience and narrow laneways and streets. Right in the market square is this little gem of a bookstore which is imbued with old world atmosphere. Lovely feeling of warmth and charm and a feeling of times past when bookstores were places refuge and peace Be sure to drop... More

Scéal Eile is a bookshop located in the Market area of Ennis. While some new books can be purchased there, many by local authors, the shop specialises in secondhand books. If you enjoy browsing through book shelves in the hope of finding something to interest you then this is the place for you. The staff are helpful and friendly. The... More

The most cutest book shop ever. It's really big and has a few rooms filled with books, books and more books! It's a second hand shop so plenty of bargains. If your a book lover like me definitely give it a visit

We visited Scéal Eile 2nd hand bookshop during a weekend break in February. It was such a treat. After about 30 mins browsing and finding a few gems, we had a long chat with the owner's father who was looking after the shop. There was a fire burning in the stove and he offered us tea or coffee. Very warm,... More

If you love books, you'll love this place! It is what a second-hand bookshop should be. Packed to the rafters, it offers everything, there are first editions, a mix of modern and very old books and lots of lovely children's books. The staff are very friendly and I could have spent the day there.

Charming might be the first word in a readers mind, entering. "Dickensian" you read in another review and you will accede. This is not your average book-supermarket, where small cubois of printed paper are packed closely, to be sold to the hasty buying public. Here, you can sattle down and browse the shelves. You will find some new and a... More

This is such a wonderful bookshop, I hardly know where to begin! It's very hard to believe Sceal Eile is only a few years old. It's a cosey shop, almost Dickensian in style with a lit range and an armchair down the rear for browsers. Everytime I visit I find myself walking out with an armful of unexpected treasures. The...
