Fota Wildlife Park is Cork's most visited Tourist Attraction and has been awarded best family day out in Cork and Munster. The Park is set on 70 acres on the scenic Fota Island in the heart of Cork Harbour only 15 minutes from Cork City (top 10 in the best cities to visit in the Lonely Planet guide's 'Best in Travel 2010').The park is not like an ordinary zoo; here you can come face to face with free roaming animals & birds from all parts of the world. So whether it's a kangaroo that hops in front of you or a ring tailed lemur which jumps down from a tree, each visit is sure to bring its own fantastic memories. In addition to the wonderful array of free roaming animals, visitors also have the opportunity to see highly endangered species such as the Rothschild giraffe, European Bison, Lion Tailed Macaque and Scimitar Horned Oryx, most of them without the obstacle of fenced-in exhibits. This is the most spectacular aspect of Fota Wildlife Park, and is the reason you'll want to spend a full day exploring Ireland's Wildest Attraction.

Lovely day out- with or without kids. Huge display of animals; zebra, giraffe, rhino, lion, tiger, cheetah, buffalo, meerkats, snakes, butterflies and many more. Not like a zoo as animals have so much room. Also kangaroos wandering about. Monkeys on the island. Really impressive place. Much improved in recent years.

We had a great visit today with our 2 teenage daughters. A lot of upgrades seem to be taking place and a lot of new areas have opened since our last visit. Great to watch Cheetahs being fed. New Tigers enclosure very nice. Kangaroo hopped in front of us . Rhinos enclosure good too. Very enjoyable day.

Been going to fota since I was young. There's some building and digging going on that spoils it a bit. And the restaurant was was packed we couldn't get a seat. But all in all my two kids loved seeing all the animals and getting something in the gift shop

Visited with our 5yr old and 10yr old and they both had a brilliant day, saw lots of the animals, and loved the play areas. I love the fact that the kangaroos roam around the park free. Its very reasonably priced to get in and the cafe is good. Over all a really well maintained and run place with very... More

This is a nice place to walk around and see the resubmit. €46 for a family, with an additional €3 for parking. Comparing this place to Chester Zoo or Dublin Zoo, we were all done within 2 hours. Although there are a wide range of species to see, there are omissions such as elephants, hippos, crocs etc. It's not a... More

I arrived bang on opening time with my 6 year old daughter and we were first in. From the moment we walked in and saw the meerkats it was truly a day of wonder! As we strolled through a near empty park my daughter was having the time of her life. From the kangaroo hopping across the part 2 good... More

This is a great park to visit with the kids. We had a family day out here and there is lots to see but it isn't too huge to walk around in a day. Good food facilities and gift shop as well. Nice selection of animals to see.

Great place to visit especially with kids, haven't been in 2 years and saw a huge difference with all the new enclosures and animals, wear comfy footwear as there is a lot of walking to b done, try to see the animals being fed or the giraffe crossing, my 3 year old loved the freedom without his buggy and it's... When the weather is good its just like being on safari in Kenya.....when the weather is so so, it is still a great place to visit.....you can spend the whole day wandering around with some good food also available.
