Davy Byrnes was a Joyce hangout and figures in Ulysses. But what I like best about it is one of the world's great sandwiches: big chunks of baked salmon open-face on brown bread. Add a pint of Guinness and you have a perfect meal.

Really nice pub with great Guinness and lovely decor - Art Deco I think. Unfortunately the food was very old school Irish. And that's not a good thing. New Irish food is good, old school bad.
