More
Dublin Castle was for 700 years the seat of British power in Ireland. Today you can still view the remains of the 13th century structure as part of the guided tour. The present Dublin Castle dates from the mid 1700's and today is used by the Irish Governemnt for state events such as the inauguration of the Irish President and state banquets for visiting dignatories. Amongst the highlights are the Ladies Drawing Room, the Throne Room and St. Patricks Hall.

We booked a guided tour of the castle as it gave you access to more areas, and our guide was very informative. Unfortunately there is not much left of the castle, however we enjoyed the visit to the ruins, and the amazingly beautiful chapel. It...More

Our guide was GREAT and we especially enjoyed hearing about the history of the castle. On the tour you can see the medieval foundations and the Chapel Royal and the State Apartments. We felt it was well worth the money and time!

Very interesting commented tour and a visit on your own to the State Apartments. These are modelled on Versailles, and are much more impressive than the Edinburgh Castle which is bare or the Edinburgh Holyrood Palace which is very stern. This was a VERY enjoyable...More

Great guided tour with lots of historical information and many parts of the castle included in the tour. After the tour we had an excellent scone in the museum coffee shop before heading off to see more of Dublin.
