Loved this place. Closed Monday. Good to get to with hop on hop off bus but we walked back next day from train station - easy walk. Beautiful courtyard and buildings - there is museum about it but we didn't get to that. Went to 2 exhibitions - very different and both stimulating and vibrant. Lovely (but hot) cafe downstairs.

I went with some friends this week, loved it. Lots of beautiful art to look and learn about. The staff is nice and kind. But I think the cost of the drinks in the café is bit too much. Apart from that I am looking ford to be going again soon.😄

This museum is free so that gets a thumbs up right off the bat. There are different themes in different wings with nationalism and democracy being explored in one area for example. I spent about an hour here, not including the cafe, which has excellent soup.

Stopped by for the Freud exhibit which was interesting. Found it to be a tale of two experiences. The person at the main building reception seemed to be more interested in surfing the web, rather than attending to those in front of her. The Freud exhibit proved to be quite interesting and those working in that building were an entirely... More

Out of the way. Beautiful building and grounds. Palestinian/Irish and plough and stars exhibitions were great.

Fantastic exhibition about Palestine when i was there. the grounds are lovely for a walk. The museum shop was disappointing. Poor range of postcards and not much in the way of gifts relating to the exhibitions in the museum. The location of the museum is handy if you're visiting the jail as it's next door

It may be worth a visit if you happen to be around, but I would not go here for the museum. The collection was small en not very interesting.

I have been to numerous art galleries in Europe and in America. I’ve seen the classics, the masters, the disturbing installations, the weird and the wonderful, etc, etc. And I believe I have a good eye for contemporary art. But much of the ‘stuff’ in this museum was trying to ‘cash in’ without any talent. The ideal of out of... More

We found ourselves wondering... Is this where everything rejected by the Tate ends up ? Not worth the walk, huge gallery, barely anything of interest. We may not be arts critics.. But we know what we like. And we like cake more than we like IMMA I'm afraid. Your café is an asset. Treasure it. So..What could IMMA do to... More

The Lucian Freud exhibit on display now until 2021 is superb and is well worth the tram ride out to the museum. Housed in a separate building, the exhibit displays about 50 works over three floors. Generally speaking - portraits of family on the ground floor, etchings downstairs, and portraits of other sitters upstairs. It was great to get to... More
