The library is beautiful and very picturesque but the book of kells is not nearly as impressive as I had hoped and the price to visit is way too expensive for something that is about a 10-15 minute experience.

Go early as the lines form fast. It's a fascinating exhibit. Don't miss the library upstairs. Imagine what it was like all those years ago!

Be sure to book online a day or so before you want to go. The earlier you go, the better. The line gets ridiculously long and would take hours to get through. The books are kept in a small room under glass and people tend...More

It costs 13 euro to enter. And you have to wait in a long line. For 14 euro you can have a student give you a tour and get your ticket and not have to wait in line. Great tip we got from a tour...More

Absolutely amazing exhibit and awesome Long library! We were there with a tour, so it was very crowded at 11 AM. Probably later in the afternoon is more quiet there.

This Irish treasure must be seen while in Dublin. Bring your patience, though, as the exhibit gets very crowded. Make sure you purchase tickets online. You then have a "fast pass" type of entry. When you get to the exhibit entrance, there are two lines....More

We went there and learned a great deal. Our tour guide was a college student who was able to fully explain the history and relevance of the items that we saw and experienced; definitely worth the trip.

This is a good exhibit to see except for the fact that they let too many people in the Book of Kells area at a time and there is no line set up to see it. The room is pretty much a free-for-all so expect...More

This exhibit had a wait equal only to Guiness. It is historically significant, but it takes time to move masses of people past the book. The paper and ink quality are very impressive. The first room with information has a lot of people in it...More

The historical significance is overwhelming for one of the oldest transcriptions of the gospel in the world. You see incredible detailed work done by monks to transcribe the Bible and books of prayers on intricately fashioned books that are older than some countries in the...More

I do not remember seeing a cloak room, or lockers anywhere. They also don't have any space to put it somewhere behind the counter. Best to go luggage free.
