Nice cafe

Had a expired voucher for afternoon tea in the cafe but the management had no problem letting us use it. Very friendly staff.

visited Rathfarnham castle, having last seen it when it first opened. OPW has done a great job of restoration and had an engrossing tour with a wonderful tour guide (Peter). He clearly loves the castle, knows an amazing amount about it, and conveyed his knowledge with a great personal touch.

The Rathfarnham Castle Tea Rooms (Brambles Deli) is a lovely place to meet up with friends. No-one is rushed and there are plenty of choices to choose from - soup and sambo combo to lovely salmon roulade.. A little on the pricey side, tho' worth it, as you can take your time. A busy restaurant. If you visit the Castle... More

From the start of our tour of the Castle our tour guide Eoin was informative and explained all aspects of the castle and its past inhabitants in great detail. The grounds are vast and brilliant for walking. Following our walk we had Afternoon Tea in the Tea rooms which was delicious. We were brought to our pre laid table covered... More

Bought an online voucher for afternoon tea for 2. When we arrived, we were seated quite quickly, table was reserved & already set with beautiful China mugs - v well presented. We requested our pot of tea which arrived v promptly too. Within seconds our tiered tea arrived( a bit too quick for my liking) Straight away we discovered how!... More

We started our afternoon by having Afternoon Tea in Brambles - the tea room at the castle. I have had afternoon teas in a lot of places but this was just tip top. The sandwiches were tasty, the cakes and scones were bite size and delicious. Tea was served in a silver tea pot into china tea cups all on... More

I visited Rathfarnham Castle tea room with my elderly mother. The staff are lovely, the tea rooms is pretty, the chinaware is charming. The coffees were OK, but the cakes were dreadful. Dry and factory made, at home baked prices. I appreciate this other issue lies with irresponsible dog owners. I counted 5 different dried out dog turds in the... More

The costumes and toys are gone and the castle has reopened after extensive restoration. Nominal admission charge inside (free with OPW heritage card - park is free to all) and guided tours available but mercifully not compulsory. Rathfarnham is a hidden gem, a fortified Elizabethan manor house (the ONLY one in Ireland still intact) which became a grand Georgian house.... More
