The pub, the poet and the pint. In Dublin, they seem to be inseparable. The public house is where writers sharpened their wit. This two hour walking tour is led by a team of professional actors who follow in the footsteps of James Joyce, Samuel Beckett, Oscar Wilde, Brendan Behan and many others. You will hear renditions of prose, verse, drama and song from Dublin's literary hall of fame. The evening is packed with entertainment and also includes a quiz with prizes for the winners. As one critic wrote: 'A highly enjoyable evening that gives you the pleasant notion of replacing brain cells as you drown them'. Check our website for further details and to book online.

We went on the Literary pub crawl this week. It was a very entertaining and informative. Going on the tour early on in our stay was great as we learned about the great writers that Dublin honors at various memorials, establishment names and street names. The actors brought to life the life and times of the various authors. Also, we... More

This tour was a bit of a crap-shoot when booking--hard to know what to expect. So I will try to provide the gist: You meet at the Duke pub, south of Trinity College. It would be perhaps wise to show up early and have a small bite, and a drink (or two). The tour has a room reserved there, which... More

This was a great, inexpensive way to get a feel for Dublin's literary history and visit a few pubs. The group was kept to a very workable size, unlike other tours I've been on. The actors are excellent and very knowledgeable. I recommend this highly.

This tour was recommended, so I had high expectations, and we weren't disappointed. The two actors (I think their names were Finbar and Frank) taught us so much on the tour, and were easy to chat to between "scenes". A great way to explore parts of Dublin (and the inside of some pubs) you might not otherwise visit, and we... More

Our guides were informative, hysterical, personable and super entertaining! We bought a copy of their book as a gift to my mother, who loves all things Ireland - and literary! This was an excellent and informative way to see the city, literary lover or not. We truly enjoyed every bit of it!

We really enjoyed the tour. The actors Chris and Frank had great delivery when imparting their knowledge and were highly entertaining. You stop at 3 great pubs along the tour as well as meeting in the Duke which is also a lovely pub. There is just time for a half of Guinness in each. We went on a Saturday so... More

I was traveling for work and stayed the weekend. Knowing no one, I thought this was a great chance to do a pub crawl; I'm in Dublin after all. And, I was right! Super fun, good mix of pubs. Our two leaders were outstanding, culture, history, literature, plus Guinness. Highly recommend for solo travelers, met some lovely people.

We had a great time on this tour. The actors were very good and stayed engaged. The pubs were neat but crowded. I recommend going during the week, but definitely do this tour.

This was a lot of fun while learning something about the writers of Ireland. Visited several pubs and Trinity University so able to sample a few pints along the way. The leaders were really funny and low key and it was good to meet others on the pub crawl. Difficult to get food in the short time you are in... More

Thanks for your kind review...It is a good idea to drop in to the DUKE at say 6.30pm and get something to eat first. There's a big range of bar food so you can eat relatively there and pick up your tickets shortly after 7pm when the door opens. We Look forward to seeing you on the Dublin Literary Pub... More
