About
Irish whiskey is fast becoming one of the most popular spirits across the World. The Irish Whiskey Museum, based in the heart of Dublin City in a historic building on Grafton Street, tells the complete and unbiased history of Irish whiskey and its importance in Ireland’s turbulent past. The Irish Whiskey Museum is independent of all whiskey distilleries, offering its visitors the opportunity to taste and experience a huge selection of Irish Whiskey. Whether it’s Single Grain, Malt, Pot Still or a Blended Whiskey, the Museum’s whiskey experts will always be able to help you find the perfect whiskey to suit your palate. Tours take place from 10am-6pm every day, while visitors can experience a variety of live traditional music, storytelling and events every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening until 10.30pm.

I am not a whiskey/whisky drinker but I still really enjoyed the tour. Very Informative Staff. Very fun! I now know the difference between whiskey and whisky. Which I’m embarrassed to say that I didn’t beforehand, as an Irish man!

We didn’t know what to expect, but we love learning about history, different places, and cultures and this had all of the above and then some. It was an enjoyable evening.

We had tickets booked for March 2021
Due to lockdown at this time the tour did not go ahead
I have made contact with the museum a couple of times ( can’t get through on the phone) via email and no response ! I am looking for a full refund as no effort was made to contact people who had tickets at the time !

One advice I would like to give you: make sure you eat something before engaging in the taste or you will end up spoiling the following hours, certainly if you are walking in a group. Interesting activity and well explained. The taste is somewhat compulsory after en during the listening.

We visited the museum in May 2019 pre-COVID; sorry for the delay in review.

We decided to visit the museum instead of going to one of the distilleries because we thought we'd get to taste more varieties of whisky. That is certainly the case but I'm not sure if you are provided more information about the methods? At any rate, it is an interesting tour, part serious and part funny, and you do get to taste several whiskies that give you an idea of the results of different types of distilling and storage. You end up in the bar and can order flights which help you decide which whisky is your favourite. And of course you can buy bottles of whisky of various sizes. Friends bought small bottles for relatives back home.

If you want more information, I suggest a tour of Jamison's but for a broad explanation of the industry and some diversity in tasting, try the Irish Whisky Museum.

Enjoyable your, we went for premium which included an extra whiskey to taste and free glass to take home. Host was Fionn, really entertaining and littered with facts.

We took the simple tour and it was excellent. I believe they do different types of tour including a more premium tour,Malmö, worth noting that they do have live music on some evenings.

First of all, it’s not a museum. I would call it a lecture room combined with a whiskey tasting. I learned a few interesting things about Irish whiskey. The problem is I could read this online and save time. I emphasize time, not money because time is always the most precious during quick trips and you don’t want to waste it on such attractions. Don’t get me wrong, the people who work there try really hard to entertain visitors but there’s not much to see and do. Even the best tour guide could not save this place. However, I’m not surprised that this place has received such high notes. People usually do not require too much if the tour guide is funny and they can buy a souvenir with the museum logo at the end of their stay. Visit this place only if you are very bored.

Knowledgeable staff gives you a great overview of the history of whiskey in Ireland, as well as famous Irish distilleries. The tastings, too, give you an understanding of the subtle differences between them.
