We drove from Clifden to Ballyconelley, on to Roundstone and then back via the Bog Road. Roundstone was a lovely stop, wander down and take brilliant photos of the bay with the Bens in the background. Lovely cup of tea in one of the cafe's.

One of the most fantastic things we have ever done as a family, we booked a 3 hour kayaking trip round Inish Lacken with Shane of Roundstone Outdoors. We met Shane at Erlough, the prettiest little harbour on an amazingly calm morning, and after a safety briefing, Shane provided everything from wetsuits, spraydecks and life jackets, we set off. He... More

This was a stop along our day out drive and it was a very small fishing village. It was pretty but not much there at all. It was very windy. Not sure if it is like that all the time here. We stopped at the little gift shop which was nice and had a lot of merchandise to look at.... More

Just come back from a fabulous week in Roundstone , the highlight of the week was a trip out in a Galway Hooker. The traditional Galway boat leaves regularly from Roundstone Harbour and is manned by 3 local men who are all experienced sailors with a wealth of local knowledge. Having never been on a sailing boat before I was... More

What a beautiful part of the world. I just wasn't expecting to see such magnificent beaches here. White white sand, crisp clear water, and a quaint village. Dogs Bay was the highlight. A must visit if your are in the Galway area of Ireland.

I spent a week in roundstone during July with my three kids, and my friends children. We had two big highlights- Wild Atlantic Kayaking in Dogs bay and going out in a traditional Galway Hooker in Roundstone harbour. The kids loved the kayaking, and I really loved the experience of going out in the Hooker and listening to the crew... More

Possibly take wetsuits if you want to be in the water a lot. Beware of brown jellyfish but the purple ones are absolutely harmless.

Well worth a trip if you get a sunny day, head out to walk on this gorgeous beach. there is a campsite at the beach, the little village is worth a short visit, and the drive from Galway city is magnificent. Enjoy!
