The sea in the city

A nice walk along the quay and the boats. There's all types of boats, people working with the boats and tourists, a nice mix for a stroll by the water.

Loved the colored buildings, but dress warm as it is always cold and windy near the water. Fun place to walk around and take photos. And did I mention the swans, yes they are beautiful.

Excellent place to walk around with a cup of coffee first thing in the morning. It was quiet and calm and a great way to start the day.

View of the docks as you stay at the harbor or eat in the fantastic view restaurants right on the Doc and take in the ships arriving views or just the sea view.

Ok for a quick look on the way past but not worth making an effort for. Small and not really a great outlook.

Nice for a stroll & soak up the seaside atmosphere, enjoyed looking at the boats, could get up close to the fishing vessels.

A relaxing view along the Galway docks. Great to see the trawlers.Sat with my visitors and watched the world go by. An advantage is that it is very close to the shops.

An oasis of peace right by the hustle and bustle of Galway city centre, the docks are well worth a stroll on a sunny afternoon or for a romantic evening walk. There are swan, boats of old age, and the gast flowing waters of the river Corrib.

We past the Docks every day when leaving and returning to our (Harbour) hotel. Always something different to see. We often took a different way to the Docks from the centre of Galway. Busy, but perhaps less so than 20 years ago. Worth a visit - especially approaching from the end of The Long Walk (from the Spanish Arch). You... More
