This pub is unusual given its location right in the heart of Galway's main tourist area in that in does not serve food or have music. However it appears to be frequented by many Locals and it does serve the best pint of Guinness I tasted while I was in Galway.

A gem of a bar in Galway! Quite an older bar with great service and food prices. The oysters were good and great horseradish sauce. The rest are usual pub food such as Irish stew and smoked salmon, etc. but many locals so good people watching place and good Irish whiskey selection!

A gem of a spot, the guiness is asgood as you'll get the Boss informed me! A small pub with massive atmosphere, a good mix of young and old all enjoying the banter.

Great stop for beer and watching sports. This small venue has a big heart and great people. Being Americans, we had great conversations with locals watching football. Nice stop for a beer!

Ourbus driver James recommended eating lunch at Murphys. Yum!!! So happy we did. While he recommended the fish and chips we chose chower. It was a cold damp day and the chowder hit the spot. It was a clean neat place and the food was great.

We stopped here one night during a recent trip to Ireland and enjoyed it so much we came back the following night. Murphy's doesn't serve food, so this is a place to enjoy a pint and to join in on the conversation. It is obviously a place that locals know and regularly patronize, so we felt part of the Galway... While shopping on the streets of Galway and walking through the Quay St area, this was a great stop for a beer and food. Honestly, the food was excellent as well as the service.
