It was October--not beach season, but we came into town and checked out the beach area on the way to our hotel. It was a short stroll away.

This is a beautiful nice sandy beach and is quite enjoyable even when windy and cool as it was when we were there! The beach is clean and the diving board allows for a plunge into the Atlantic if you are more adventurous than we...More

The beaches here are at least sand beaches facing the Atlantic Ocean and the water was COLD - nothing like a beach in Australia - no surf, but for Ireland OK to paddle about in. While we visited - some foolhardy Irishman was having a...More

These are nice and spread out beaches. Some are sandy, some are stones. The water depth can vary on the location. There is a great diving board area with two diving platforms that make great entertainment.

Who know I would tan in Ireland!! Fun, quiet, clean beaches. Perfect for families. No lifeguards, so be aware. For Americans, know that the water is lovely, but very cold!

My husband and I really found this beach relaxing and it was super clean. We really loved the walking trail around the beach as well.

Salt hill beach is one of the stunning clean beaches of Galway. I visit almost every summer, but the summer of 2018 was special because of a heatwave. Must visit beach.
