The Abbey as it is known locally is run by priests of the Franciscan Order. First founded in 1296 it has been in its current location since the mid17th century. Drop in, stay a while, regardless of your beliefs you will benefit from the peace and quite.

The Abbey is a beautiful church however the photograph shown here is not the Abbey. I'm not even sure what church it actually is or if it's even in Galway.

Was there 3 nights during Galway Race week. Excellent menu for €25 (3courses), which had steak, duck fish etc. Lovely starters, chowders, fish cakes etc. Very efficient friendly staff. So good went back twice more. On the Sat night the upstairs section was closed, so we ate at the bar downstairs. Starters of ribs and soup, and a 10oz fillet... More

Disliked the notes left around asking you to pray for 9 days and guaranteeing your request to come true
