If you're looking for some action and fun, this is the place to be! My partner and I did a pub crawl and followed the Whiskey Trail. The acts on the street - of music, bands and dancing - were all very entertaining. We went...More

This may be the place to see and be seen in Galway. The shops seem very standard with a few targeted at the tourist visitors. There are many pubs to choose from, many with live music.

Was in town during the races and enjoyed Quay Streets shops bars and performers. I think the people watching was as good as it got between the racing crowd in jackets and the college kids in sweat pants

Hey this is the busiest walking street in Galway i suppose. Everytime you can see a good crowd over here. The artists perform all day at different corners and can stand and enjoy the local music. The restaurants are having their tables on the outside...More

Interesting array of street performers, pubs, and restaurants. Worth walking down the street even if you do not stop for dinner.

This is a very lively area and a fun place to walk around, shop and people-watch. Loved the vibe in Galway old city.

Quay Street and High Street and the surrounding area are where it's at. Early in the morning as the shops are opening and before the bus your hordes arrive is the best time to enjoy it.

The food, the street performers and their music and the spirit of the Irish people makes this a must do. What fun we had. Totally enjoyed. Transforms from day to night so do both.

Just keep in Mind that good Friday is the only day in the year when no alcohol is sold in Ireland. Apart from that you should be fine not like Christmas day where towns and streets are like ghost towns.
