Spectacular views and a lively area along the Salthill promenade. Watch crazy people jump into cold water to enjoy a summer afternoon, or stroll along and enjoy the rolling hills around Galway!

I came to the bay to have a seat and just look out over the water but what I experienced was much more than just a peaceful resting period. There was a group of children feeding a swan on the wall of the bay about...More

First time visit to Galway county/city/bay/coastline. Wonderful rugged place with the Wild Atlantic as your backdrop. Loved it.

Galway Bay is awesome if you are a fan of the Ocean. Galway Bay, at least the two days we visited, was an incredibly windy and rainy adventure. I loved it, as it felt like the ocean was right in my face. It was exhilarating!...More

Myself and my wife walked the Galway Bay on both nights of our stay in Galway City. It was one of the most beautiful walks of out trip to Ireland so far.

The bay offers beautiful views. When we went a few people were having picnics and there was a nice friendly atmosphere.

Hello, I plan to visit Ireland in July and would like to have ideas on nice walks along the coast. I would plan to stay in Galway and depart from there. Is that a good idea ? I will not have a car so I need to get to places with the bus or the train. What can you recommend me ? Thanks in advance to share some advice. Regards, Chris

I visited Irlande last summer with 2 friends. We were on foot. Just a warning, bus and train are expensive (compared to prices in France I mean). Of course you have to go to the Cliffs of Moher !! We stopped in Doolin, a... More
