The cathedral is breathtaking and so worth a visit. It is a fantastic monument but still so woven into the lives of the locals. Absolute priviledge.
The celebrated architect Augustus Pugin designed this beautiful cathedral which sits opposite the Killarney National Park and only five minutes walk from the main shopping precinct. With its soaring ceiling, attractive stonework and stained glass windows time spent within was truly peaceful and moving.
Very much needs to be visited while in Killarney. Gorgeous architecture and stained class windows. A great sense of history and stepping back in time.
My wife and I visited St. Mary's Cathedral in Killarney in September 2017. The Cathedral is beautiful. The ceiling structure is awesome. If you go to Killarney it is a must see.
A remarkably beautiful cathedral that takes your breath away. Well worth a visit, even if you are not religious, for the fantastic architecture.
